Lidl to open logistics centre in Bravantice, Ostrava region

In line with a sustainable approach to business, Lidl will install grey water tanks in Bravantice, which will be used for the operation of the chain conveyor and its washing machine after treatment. Lidl plans to heat and cool the office buildings using the waste heat from the gas-fired electricity generation plant. "The opening of the new logistics centre is the next step in Lidl's development and thanks to this step we will ensure more efficient supply to the nearly 320 stores we have in the Czech Republic," says Eliška Froschová Stehlíková, spokesperson for Lidl Czech Republic.

The complex, spread over nearly four hectares, will provide more than 200 parking spaces - including charging stations for electric vehicles - a bus stop and facilities for employees. Lidl currently operates five logistics centres in Buštěhrad, Brandýs nad Labem, Cerhovice, Měřín and Olomouc.
